Energy efficiency, carbon neutrality and technological innovation: a strategic move towards green economy

Through a production process based on low carbon emissions, achieving sustainable development is the desired goal of various social and political actors around world. However, this requires energy policies focused factors that determine green economic growth (GEG). Consequently, current study investigates long-run nexus between GEG some its behaviour using annual data from 1990 to 2020 for Organization Economic Co-operation Development. The empirical evidence relies second-generation estimators comprising cross-sectional dependence tests, Westerlund method moment quantile regression. Feedbacks analyses uncover pertinence efficiency, renewable energy, technology as positive predictors GEG. Complementarily, findings reveal Integrity Government plays an essential role in implementing more efficient environmentally friendly processes. From results found, several policy suggestions are derived being considered develop aimed at mitigating environmental degradation.
